Personal data collected may include your name, job title, contact information (postal address, email address and phone number), tax number, VAT number, payment and delivery conditions, banking details, other information voluntarily supplied by you, and information that may appear in source documents and reference material sent for the express purpose of translation, editing or proofreading.

Most of the personal information processed is provided directly by you for one of the following reasons:
- Issuing quotes
- Providing the service(s) you have requested
- Responding to your queries
- Keeping business records for internal administrative use and for tax purposes, and to comply with legal requirements
- Optimising our website to suit your preferences
- Customer relations (e.g. keeping you informed of any changes in my services or availability)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we I rely on for processing this information are:

- Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting me.
- To provide the service(s) you request or to take necessary steps prior to fulfilling that request (“performance of a contract”).

How your information is stored

Your information is securely stored on personal computing devices, and not in the cloud.
Your personal data will be kept for up to 5 years unless you request its deletion at an earlier date (subject to tax and accounting requirements). An earlier request for deletion of a translation implies that Pegasus Linguistics Limited can no longer be held responsible for any queries or issues arising from said translation.

After the 5-year period has passed, I will then dispose of your information by deleting from all sources.

Who may have access to your personal data
Some information may be shared with third parties for administrative purposes only, as set out in this privacy notice, including the providers of web and email hosting services used by Pegasus Linguistics Limited. These parties are GDPR compliant, or, in the case of US companies, are self-certified under the US Privacy Shield framework.
If you choose to complete a customer satisfaction survey you accept the terms of the provider’s privacy policy which can be found here.
Pegasus Linguistics Limited will never sell or lease your personal data to third parties.
Unless agreed directly with you, for example in the case of very large projects or projects with varied content, Pegasus Linguistics Limited does not outsource work to other translators, editors or proofreaders. In the event of outsourcing to other translators, editors or proofreaders, Pegasus Linguistics Limited will ensure they are also GDPR compliant and this will be confirmed to you.

Unless requested by you for the express purpose of post-editing, Pegasus Linguistics Limited will not use online machine translation tools to translate your documents; therefore, any personal data contained within documents entrusted to me for translation will not be at risk of being leaked online by such tools.
